A Los Viñateros Bravos, Granitico Blanco Valle del Itata (2018)

Grapes: Sémillon and Moscatel
Geography: Sur, Chile
Appellation: Valle del Itata

Leonardo Erazo created “A Los Vinateros Bravos” winery in the heart of the Itata region (south of Chile).

The vines of Itata thrive in a steep hills landscape without irrigation.
Bush vines are very old in this region, and finding 100 years old vines is common here.

The volcanic and granitic soil provide an extraordinary environment for root growth resulting in very healthy vineyards.

Leonardo doesn’t interfere with the terroir to bring a strong sense of place into the bottle. Winemaking is simple, using only native yeast and cement tank for fermentation and aging.

Authentic wine, full of life, vibrancy, tension, and freshness.

This is an artisanal wine from start to finish. The wine shows bright fresh stone fruits (peach), floral notes (orange blossom) and citrus fruits (grapefruit). The wine has a persistent finish with a slight salinity reflection of proximity of the Pacific Ocean. The granite soil is responsible for the bright acid, and mineral notes in the wine.

Els Vinyerons, Penedès Saltamartí Negre (2018)

Grapes: Tempranillo and Garnacha
Geography: Catalonia, Spain
Appellation: Penedès
Features: No sulfites added

Vinyerons Vins Naturals is a project shared by Amós Bañeres and Alex Ruiz Masach in the heart of Penedés. They are encouraged to show the essence of the variety, the terrain and the landscape in their wines. They intend to make wine only with those vines that they are truly passionate about. Their philosophy is to let the wine make its own path, with little intervention and without oenological products.

Els Vinyerons Saltamartí Negre is a natural wine made from Tempranillo and Grenache grapes from vines planted on clayey-calcareous soils. Manual harvest, destemmed and maceration for 10 days. Slow fermentation is carried out with local yeasts in stainless steel deposits. Tempranillo is aged for 4 months in stainless steel deposits, and Grenache is aged for 12 months in barrels made of French oak.

Els Vinyerons Saltamartí Negre is an expressive, delicate wine. Ripe red fruit notes perfectly combined with subtle, light toasted notes.

Michelini Bros., Esperando a Los Bárbaros Malbec (2018)

Grape: Malbec
Geography: Mendoza, Argentina
Appellation: Valle de Uco

This project began in 2012 as an inspiration to focus on the pure soul and terroir of the Uco Valley, specifically Gualtallary. The Michelini brothers Juan Pablo and Matias, also winemakers at Mendoza’s renowned Zorzal and Passionate wineries, and Gerardo, and Gabriel, are creating their first biodynamic wines with the Calcareo and SuperUco labels. The wines are being produced under the stars, to harness the ancestral energy, in egg-shaped concrete vessels called amphoras in their Uco Valley vineyard located within in The Vines of Mendoza’s Winemaker’s Village project. This boutique, biodynamic project is the first of its kind in Mendoza with very limited production of high quality, terroir driven wines. . The two hectare farm is being planted in circles with 360 degrees of exposure to the sun and the different varieties will be planted from the center outward, as its vegetative cycle dictates. On the Michelini brothers wines, Neal Martin (Wine Advocate) commented that “Their passion and commitment, their spirituality and, for want of a better word, “purity” in terms of doing what they do for the love of it rather than financial reward, brought to mind the Lopez de Heredia sisters in Rioja. If you want cutting edge, meticulously crafted Argentinean wines hot footed from one of the most exciting sub-regions (Gualtallary), then look no further.

Esperando a los Barbaros is a wine that reflects its terroir. Made from grapes sourced from high altitude (1 400m above sea level) and remote vineyards in Gualtallary in the Uco Valley. Organic and Bio-dynamic, this has Malbec purity all over it. The calcareous soils leave their mark with a fresh and minty nose, with wild flowers and purity of fruit in the mouth, a firm texture, tension and minerality.

Taconic Distillery, Founder’s Rye Whiskey

Taconic Distillery, established in 2013, is a purveyor of fine craft spirits located in the Hudson Valley of New York. They handcraft award-winning bourbon and rye whiskies in small batches using the finest ingredients, including grains grown in New York and natural spring water from their farm.

Inspired by hunting and fishing, Taconic embraces a passion for the outdoors and that passion is imprinted on all their spirits.

All of our spirits are brilliant for simple sipping. They also make excellent traditional and signature cocktails.

Rye brings out the best of their terroir. The addition of mineral-rich, artisanal spring water cools the whiskey resulting in an exceptionally smooth rye. On cold fall days, enjoy it neat or in a perfect Manhattan.
