It is a family winery, whose beginnings date back to 1910 when “The grandfather D. Román Montaña” began to devote himself to the elaboration and aging of wines, being the founder of a saga of master craftsmen in wines, nowadays it is his grandchildren who continue with great success this work.
Marqués de Tomares is located in Fuenmayor – under the Rioja Qualified Denomination of Origin, in the sub-zone of Rioja Alta, this being a town where historically it is characterized the great quality of its wines for the aging of wines.
Although small in size, the natural region of La Rioja has different climatic zones as a result of its geography; Atlantic, Atlantic-Mediterranean, which endows it with unique characteristics for the cultivation and elaboration of its wines.
Formed by centenary vines, cultivated with his grandfather Román, the saga of master winemakers continues to this day. “A family winery bequeathed with a lot of effort and work, which continues to produce high quality wines with success.”
Visual: Ruby red color of very intense layer, appreciating certain violet touches due to his youth, as well as light ocher rims due to his stay in oak barrels.
Olfactory Phase: The aroma is fruity accompanied by certain touches of vanilla, highlighting its persistence and long duration.
Gustatory Phase: In the mouth it highlights its great structure and complexity, remembering its freshness. On the way there is a great roundness due to its stay in the bottle, its aftertaste being very pleasant and of great intensity.
Pairing: This wine combines perfectly with cheeses, soft meats and blue fish.
